Approximately 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland found themselves without power on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events impacted the area, bringing powerful gusts reaching 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Hailstones and Broad Damage
Locals reported substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. Weather authorities announced that different parts across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Response teams were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews working to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, approximately one thousand households in the southern state also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area recorded its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams handled 598 emergency reports across the area, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across various areas of both regions.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
